four legged hip cat

four legged hip cat

A Poem by DMurrell

Beards and long bangs over the eyebrows high
Dark greens, dark afro darker blues...like yeah.
Floating th'intercontinental tarmac veins NYNY to San Francisco… circa the nether world below lower subterranean cranium, uh, “The Beatnik Era”, hotter than a flash of melting uranium

American literati snub'd as if comparing old scotch to gin in a tub
... anyway who needs the prof and his/her....

…prophetic, poetic, songsters seeking a William Blake vision in Walt Whitman to Bogart & Bacall with much of Emily D tossed into the melting salad mix green salad bowl…
Cool, hip, finger snapping groove to the sax and brushed skin
Of live solo heart throbbing rifts mongst wafting drifts of life’s river flow
Of one another’s mindscapes
A Kandinsky spiritual painting on a Pollock canvass, a Hollywood body
In smoky jiving joints Anywhere Hip, USA other than Nowheresville, Man can you dig it

People of
Gen “Howl”
Spoke and remnant tribes
Speak of “cats”
Kin and kith in the low down and out but heart stout biped’ed human race .
Like, you know , Man: Rat Cat, Sleek Cat,
Fat Cats, Smart Cats, Krazy Kats, Jazz Cats, Cold Cats, Cool Cats,
Outasight Cats and myriad other cats
Such cold cut cats as could fill up a psychiatrist’s couch (Ah ha! Th’ Working-it-out Potato Cat)

Yep. I affirm and truly discern this etymologically cat names per affecting
In our daily language. (text that)
Myself,
I cannot think of another critter to be likened to better than the cat…
Hoping even not to offend
