Peanuts

Peanuts

A Poem by Sarah Jane

I am overwhelmed with
Peanuts
Crumbs
I'm grasping for sustenance
For sleep
For peace
I wake to news of slaughter
Of disaster
Of pain
I dream of drowning
Of falling
Of failing
I eat indifference
And have only
Peanuts
Crumbs

Such a relatable poem that speaks for many of us during these difficult times. I know there have been quite a few days this past year and a half I have woken up feeling exactly the way these words describe. Thank you Sarah for sharing your art with us.
