Nature's Epidemic

Nature's Epidemic

A Poem by Sarah Jane

Let the smoke cloud these lungs
As death would cloud a room
Prevade your heart with sadness
Those wild horses run free

An understanding has become
By no law do you love me
Raindrops fall with these tears
What flower can bloom now?
You burn me with words, to what
A point that tried to make a stand
A spirit faultered as mouths yelled
What hell will I reside to?
One worse than now I presume
A knife holds such promises

A drunk I may become
Iv'e beaten myself by far
Trees uproot and flee the forest
And leave the birds to die

Peer out a window when able
Try to see the air move
Close your eyes and cry out
You relize you never can
