A Change has finally come

OH-BA-MA OH-BA-MA!

 

Sam Cooke once said

“A Change is Gonna come”

Most didn’t believe

But Hope remained with some

 

The hope that passed down

From my grandmas generation

Paved the way for equality

And unity of our nation

 

Like the words from the speech

Of Martin Luther King

I woke up this morning

Living in his dream

 

At first I didn’t believe it

Then reality kicked in

The President that we elected

Had the same color as my skin

 

He’s opened our eyes

To a bright new world

Where endless possibilities

And opportunity can unfurl

 

I stand with my brother and

Sister Hand and hand

While we chant to each other

His motto “Yes We Can”

 

And I say to you Mr. Obama

Never let the magic end

And Congratulations Mr. President

Now let the change begin.
