Bottled Inside

Bottled Inside

A Poem by Chelsea Schermerhorn

My mind races;
It never stops.
It’s crammed full;
What do I do?

The thoughts and feelings
That I hold back
Haunt my mind
And my heart.

What am I to do?
Confusion clouds my judgment.
Why do I think this, and
Why do I feel that?

Who’s to listen
That it won’t bother?
Who’s to help
That it won’t hurt?

That is why I am
The way that I am
That is the reason why,
I keep it bottled inside.
