The Flag is Torn

The Flag is Torn

A Poem by Chelsea Schermerhorn
"

I wrote this in 5th grade after September 11, 2001.

"

Due to tragedies the flag is torn.

Sad faces and frowns, in our country are worn.

Yet some countries are not sore,

Even though our flag is torn.

Men and women alike

Have tried to repair it,

But Afghanistan cannot bare it,

They laugh at us

For their hearts aren’t sore,

Even though our flag is torn.

Let God take control.

For he can repair it.

Just let him take care of it.

God loves and protects us.

Just let him take control.

This is good. It is a good way to remember what occured on 9/11. I like the structure. The last stanza was very powerful. Vey good poem!
