The Tranquility of Water

The Tranquility of Water

A Poem by Chelsea Schermerhorn

A wave breaks upon the rocks,
waking me from my reverie.
And for a second,
Sparkling drops
Adorn the air surrounding me.
I slide down off the rocks,
Into the ocean below.
The water is so cool and crisp;
It refreshes my body, mind, and soul.
As the water, at last, engulfs me,
I take delight in its tranquility.
