Love Can't Hold Me Down

Love Can't Hold Me Down

A Poem by Chelsea Schermerhorn
"

another High School Girl Poem......eh....

"

Why do I love you?

I don’t understand

How you make my heart melt,

Like no one else can.

Why do I feel this way?

It doesn’t make sense,

How much I long

For your touch and your kiss

It doesn’t make sense,

Because it isn’t what I want.

This infatuation

Is merely a taunt

It tugs and it pulls

Constantly at my heart.

But I’ll give it up

And do what is smart

I want out

Out of this town

Love can’t hold me down

For the world, I’m bound.

You’re just a small town guy

Living the small town dream

I may be a small town girl

But there’s more to me than there seems.

In life, I want adventure

The world holds all I want to see.

I’m shooting for the stars;

I’m going for my dreams.

I don’t want to be a nobody

Stuck in this small town

I crave new sights;

I crave new sounds

This town with all these memories

Cannot hold me down

My future is so bright,

For the world, I’m bound

I want out

Out of this town

Love can’t hold me down

For the world, I’m bound.

Hi Chelsea,

Hey I really liked this poem. I got the feeling while reading it because of it's lilt and repeating lines that it would make a good song! Know any musicans? :)

thanks for sharing and for your kind comment on my poem.
