Eye

Eye

A Poem by Dahlia Burley

His eyes seized the target of desire.
While so overcome with rapture, his drear faded in fallacy.
Her poignant frame could capture the attention of a thousand hearts.
Until, her soul surrendered and seeped from her very existence.
His eyes now examined her eternal sleep
as the veil of his past seemed to not hinder his actions.
He carried, covered and caressed her till dawn.
Her skin left colourless.
Her eyes left lifeless.
Her frame now feeble and withered.

Pretty good...

The way you described "Her" seems so mysterious....
I liked the way you started out with "His eyes seized the target of desire."
