LITTLE GIRL

LITTLE GIRL

A Poem by Dale
"

My daughter, my pride, my joy!

"

Little girl, little girl

Why must you lie?

Why must you cut your eyes?

Yor attitude eludes me

Your contempt doesn't move me

To compete with me is a thrill

I wish my experience was opaque like silk

I wish you could nurture from it as you grew from me

Why must I be your adversary?

When all I want is to make you glad you know me

To make you glad you gave me a chance;

to make you glad we're on this path...

Little girl, little girl

What are you looking for?

is it a king?

is it a matador?

Self acceptance is foremorst

Looking out here won't secure your hopes

There's more to life than you can see right now

Let me teach you;

Let me mold you;

Let me show you how

I'm not trying to control you

This is not to manipulate

I want to enhance your life

I want you to be great!

Little girl, little girl

Though big you may be

Your minds not ready

you still need me!

Though beautiful you are

The world won't admire you

It'll retire you.

Little girl, little girl

Why must you compare us?

Someday you'll see

you're gonna appreciate me

You pout, you shout, you push to be free

To acquire knowledge is the key

To exhaust all thought and show degrees

To flex your muscles

To reach and grow and achieve

Power is prominent

You have yet to live

To climb mountains, to sour, just for a thrill...

Little girl, little girl

You have what it takes

Let me show you how

Let's escape...

Let's bring up our culture

Let's bring up our race

We can start a new pace.

Little girl, little girl

I want you to be strong

I want to inflame your soul, to set your heart a blaze

I want life to be a treaure, a pleasure most of all

If you take your time and give thought, you can open all doors

You're not trapped, it's all mapped

I know you want to live, but why grow so fast?

Little girl, little girl

You turn your back; you walk away

You don't want to hear what I have to say...

Little girl, little girl

I've walked for miles in your shoes

You make me feel like Maya Angelou

I'm trying to get a point across; to reach out to you

I'm trying to let you know

How wonderful you are

No need to be insecure

I don't want you to be average

Walking with a baby carriage

don't even have a marriage

You're bearly fourteen, slow your role if you please

regret is the devils seed.

Little girl, little girl

Please listen to me!

Your life doesn't have to be like mine

Since you don't ean to be like me; that's just fine!

There's so much the world has to offer, you've just begun to live

You can conquer you dreams

you can achieve

You can be better, than even me!

Little girl, little girl

Just let me guide you

You can be powerful and strong

You don't have to be nobodies w***e

I'm gonna show you how to stand tall,

Promote yourself and be the best of them all!

Very well written and the words to the young girls are strong. Unfortantly, they will make mistakes and when they know what they know after the mistakes are made they will want to share their weath of wisom with the next girl come through the door of wooman hood.

good write, clear and nice rhythm and flow.
