Just Bend to the Trend

Just Bend to the Trend

A Poem by Dale Pavolko

The moon was feeling mean.
The big bad wolf
had a bad dream.
The sky could not take the glare.
There was thunder in the air.
The land was full of rocks
that rumbled as they rolled.
In the distance an angry lion roared.
God looked down
and saw the need.
Therefore in his wisdom he decreed,
Henceforth there shall be
electric guitars!
and all night voodoo bars,
cyanide and the whipping post,
formaldehyde and the whispering ghost.
Vampires will make the hit parade
and zombies will be all the rave.
Supernatural aint unnatural
it’s preternatural
let us put it on
TV.
Now as twilight descends upon us all
and the walking dead stumble up to call.
Lets pave the world, put up a shopping mall,
call
ACDC and throw the biggest ball.
of them all.
