Life Debt (Poem)

Life Debt (Poem)

A Poem by Damien Davison
"

Sword sharpened, thoughts of vengeance, visions of blood and fear...

"
Sword sharpened
Thoughts of vengeance
Visions of blood and fear

My one and only
My woman dead too
Why take away those years

To teach a lesson
Pay your taxes
Or off with your head they say

You owe for your life
For it is not free
Caught within shackles as slaves

But they will go
Unpaid again
Taunting to draw them close

Come within range
I'm ready this time
The beast within me arose

I jumped out at them
Horse bleeding, he falls
Barely enough time for the deed

The men they closed in
My sword in his throat
He paid the price for his greed
