The Demon Inside (Poem)

The Demon Inside (Poem)

A Poem by Damien Davison
"

Held by strangers, he waits, impatient, the fires of his rage erupting...

"
Crouching, head down
In darkness within
The fires of his rage light nothing

Held by strangers
He waits, impatient
The fires of his rage erupting

Instant, it seemed
His restraints to dust
Again, now the Demon returns

Standing, head up
He blazed through the dark
I screamed, through my chest he had burned

My skin a bubbling mess
A foul smell
I glance up in searing pain

He smiled at me
With intent to hurt
Then joyously burned my face

Forever shunned
Forever noticed
The Demon had marked me for life

He acted as me
Convinced those close
Scarring with rage burning bright
