Simply Distance

Simply Distance

A Poem by Dani Todorova

Sun is shining
and so I open my eyes,
I look beside me
and you aren't there
But I can still smell the scent of your skin...

Everything in this room reminds me of you, darling
I know we always fought
for that distance to be gone
but we didn't last...

I had another bad day
and you could tell by the answers I send,
but you give me a smile of yours
And I'm blown away...

By the end of the day
I feel the tiredness in my eyes
My only wish right now
Is to be held in your arms...

The first stanza is really nice, you can capture the essence of how you feel in the morning as you first wake up, awesome. There are a few things I'd like to point out for your benefit:

"I know we always fighted"

Fighted isn't a word. However fought is!

As well:

"but we didn't lasted..."

The "-ed" at the end last isn't need it would just be "last" in that situation.

Great job once again, keep em' coming!
