A Poem by Danielle Searby

Cigarette ash and bright blue skies.
The plans complete, the path divides.
Too many words to name.
This feeling of death and if I live again.
Whenever he tells me it's just a second away
I sit right down and let my mind stray.
I've lost the courage to think ahead.
Is it wrong to think backwards if it once misled?
This bright red heart is open for you.
But while we're worlds apart I'll be hidden from view.
