an imprint in a matress

A Poem by Dani

Just another wasted day,

time�"a mass of fireflies,

stealing light and life.

 

Books sit unopened

notes untaken

words left unsaid

 

lump on a log in a river of sameness

a lack of ambition…an unsettling un-changed-ness

old and new circumstances only different in name

 

cold compress of lifelessness on my brow,

same visions float by in stagnant ponds.

Frustration�"fingers knotted in hair.

 

So here I lay in bed

with words left unsaid,

time’s fireflies flitter by…

stealing light�"soul left to die.
