The Beautiful Ones

  Life has never been easy for the beautiful ones the ones who never hang their hats upon a cliche the ones who  move and breath inside of circles where acceptance does not exist. They are the ones who never collect the eyes sweeping over a crowded avenue...the ones who blend into nothingness..the sad ones...the nowhere ones.

 

  School was a nightmare for the beautiful ones...the ones who's skin were mottled in freckles and lips much too large for the face...who's shoes were made of question marks wrapped within skins that would never grow any thicker with the forging of time...time and constant showers of slander and harshness. they wore their shame lke an oversized coat much too large for their fragile frames......and yet they showed up every single day as if the world could never break them...they shoveled through buckets of shame to clear the roads upon which they walked and somehow learned to stand up in spite of it all..they walked on

 

  these are the beautiful ones the broken ones the sad ones  ..the contorted ones who  are often bent beyond any feasible reality yet still see their harsh lives as a gift who bear the beautiful markings of a circumcised heart  who would never dream of casting the same ashes they rose from back into their oppressors eyes.
