I Dreamt

I Dreamt

A Poem by Daphnee
"

Peter Pan

"
I dreamt he would come and save me
From the awful hell inside my mind
I dreamt he would fly in my room
And he'd take me away to Neverland
I dreamt he would never let me grow up
We would play all day and fight pirates
I dreamt that he would save the day
Oh, how I love to dream
I dreamt of the day my dreams would come true
Reality finally set in...Peter wasn't coming

I love the allusion used to form such an amazing poem! It puts into words that no matter how much we want to always carry the youthful traits, it cannot be so.

Hey Daphne, I like this poem. It carries the youthful wish of always being young, having fun, and being safe. Then one day we realise it cannot always be.
