Worst enemy

Worst enemy

A Poem by Daphnee
"

My worst enemy and strongest ally is myself

"
'Who are you?'
Sung the girl in my mirror
Discouraged and defeated, I replied,
'I dont know anymore...'
She wore a sorrowful smile
Eyes filled with liquid despair
'What happened?'
She curiously asked
I dolefully laughed, not knowing where to start
'I poured my heart out, and now I am empty.'
Her gaze held mine as she nodded in silence
'I thought you knew.'
I replied, my heart breaking and knees buckling
As the faucet turned on, she looked straight into my soul
'I knew... I just didnt accept it.'
I raised my hand and put it up to hers
'I'm so sorry.'
Obvious it was, her absent sparkle
How strange it was to see her so weak
Eyes full of desperation, too full of woe, I had to look away
'Please dont give up on me'
She pleaded
I walked away, each step heavier then the last
