Honestly Lying

Honestly Lying

A Poem by Dark Tower

I love you
Please whisper another lie
The ones I ate this morning aren't getting me by
I guess I have to deal with the fact
He'll never be truly gone
He'll be the shadow to my back
A permanent brand on your arm
There is not much I can do about it
But my head stays overcrowded
With all of these images
Knowing you feelings are paper thin
He could have you in seconds and
Blow you away with the wind

I need you
Please just one more lie
Maybe I'm just weak
And thats why I hold onto your light
How do you get off looking me in the face
This isn't right

We've got potential
No please
No more lies, I am not special
You want him, so why don't you level
It's always fun to take the poet for spin
See how many poems you can pull from him
But what are you going to do when his love is gone?
When everything fizzles because you kept the deception too long
You like to say he over thinks
But only because you overlook

You sit there calm faced
As he collapses in
He sees through it all
He knows he can't win
Maybe he once believed
No longer that naive
Love cannot grow
If you burn the soil where you plant the seed

I need you
Hush no more need for lies
They're starting to kill him inside
You just want to see the light leave his eyes
But he's a wonderful guy
Guiding you forward
Right by your side
He swallows his pride
Sir you can have her its over

"Please come back"
He can't hear you
Disappeared into the darkness
He can't stand to be near you
Will he die or see life through
You want to ask
But you know it doesn't concern you

"Goodbye"
