Like A Rose

Like A Rose

A Poem by Rev. Fr, S. D. Blankenship DDiv., PhD., MA.
"

A bloody egg yolk. A burnt hole spreading in a sheet. An enraged rose threatening to bloom. ~May Swenson.

"

The passion there in your heart,

has forlornly torn us equally apart.

The caress of your body has come to pass,

like a child still in school during class.

Your kissing lips bring a cheerless embark,

like animals on a bronze in a park.

Your tender clear skin starts to blight,

just as the moon comes up by night.

Winter's here and you are not,

but Honey dear I haven't forgot.

Now until then I say farewell,

and tonight we will leave this Hell.

Like A Rose, in any season, I see you smile, of red,

eyes so true. I love you,

Now with this all said I will listen for you my dear,

I shall die with out you now so please take care.

Like A Rose.

Some of the 'like a rose' is unnecessary but yeah, it's a nice poem, and it rhymes too!

I like this, I agree about repeating "like a rose" but still the poem has a warmth that makes the reader feel it.

lol Sounds like a song... awesome! I'm a sucker for roses so I had to check this out. It's really not that bad. I like it. :) Very beautiful, yet how the love results, *sigh* dreamy. ^^ Thanks for posting this!
