PLAZA

PLAZA

A Poem by Hunter DeLacy
"

Inspired by a short story that uses the corruptive growth of a shopping mall to depict the faults of consumerism.

"
Branching, seeping, endlessly morphing,
Branching, seeping, the howling abyss,
We are all lost in the hollow place,
Shop front after shop front,
Come closer now, it's time to check your worth,
Didn't you know? What you have is never enough,
You're ours now, life on the plaza's edge,
Roll up, roll up,
Now, we consume you.
