Set after Originals 5x13. When they die together, Klaus ends up elsewhere. Kat’s there too, and since she was in Storybrooke as a vampire before VD S2, she figures out where she is. Then she finds out

"

It was a beautiful day, as Kat walked through the woods she’d figured out was the Enchanted Forest. It wasn’t hard to figure out, since she’d stayed in Storybrooke for a little while, which to her, had been only a few years ago. She’d been here since dying of old age. She knew how to get out. She’d actually gotten a magic bean from Hook’s past self, so she had a way to leave. She just had to make her way to the ocean. There, she could open up a portal to get out of here. Even if she ended up in Storybrooke, it was better than here.

Klaus lay on what felt like a forest floor. He’d just sacrificed himself for the world and Hope, destroying the Hollow for good. Elijah had done the same, but he’d done it to be reunited with his present century love, as well as to help Klaus finish it. Elijah hadn’t had any purpose without him, since it seemed their family would be okay without them. And Klaus had been confident that Hope would have enough support to be able to be who she was meant to be someday. If they’d both succeeded though, it didn’t feel like peace he was in. He didn’t feel the Hollow inside of him anymore. He could feel as if there was still a piece of White Oak inside of him, though. He would always recognize that feeling after all of these centuries. In fact, it hadn’t been too long ago for him at least, that they’d all nearly died by the hands of their evil aunt via white ash in the air. Since it seemed like he was somewhere unfamiliar though, he doubted anyone would be here to save him this time.

Kat was continuing her journey through the woods, when she saw something. Her greatest former enemy she’d forgiven on her deathbed. He was a distance away, when she saw him on the forest floor. Then, when she was half a distance away, she realized the condition he was in. She then rushed towards and knelt at his side. Then saw a small portion of an end of the famous weapon in him. That’s when she grabbed it, pulling it out with as much strength as she could to save him. Something she wouldn’t have done in the last 500 years. When she got it pulled out of him, she saw it was barely a stake at all anymore. She didn’t really ponder on that, though. Without caring or thinking, she cut her lower arm by her wrist with a twig on the forest floor. She then put her blood to his lips, making her blood go down his throat to save him.

"Come on, Klaus. Drink," she called to him.

After about ten minutes, she felt and saw him grip her arm, as he drank from her, which relieved her, despite knowing that feeding a nearly dead vampire was dangerous, and he was a hybrid, which could be worse.

After he got his bearings after realizing that he’d been saved, he let go of her arm, seeing Katerina. She must’ve seen him and saved him. He was thankful, but for now, wouldn’t say it.

“You’re welcome,” she said, before he could say anything, as he got to his feet. She helped him, as she got to hers as well. “What happened?” she wanted to know.

“All you need to know is that I sacrificed myself for my daughter. We needed to destroy The Hollow. I volunteered to do so. Where are we?”

“Welcome to the Enchanted Forest, where fairytales exist. Don’t worry. We don’t need to stay much longer. I’ve been here long enough to know a way to get out of this world. I’ll wait here while you restore your strength, before we head for the ocean.”

“Fair enough,” he replied. “I won’t be long.”

She watched him disappear, before using a piece of clothing to tie around her arm. Then she leaned against a tree, waiting for his return.

Eventually, they got to the ocean, where she threw the magic bean into the water, before they entered the portal that was created. And when they got to the other side, she saw that they were in Storybrooke.

“Welcome to Storybrooke, Maine. This is the only town on earth where fairytales exist. Some of them. The Evil Queen, Regina, brought some selective people here to punish them, but mainly for vengeance against Snow White. I only stayed here for a year, since I left when I heard Damon had opened up the tomb full of vampires, so I don’t know what’s happened since. Just try not to kill anyone,” she informed and suggested to him, before walking towards the town.

Several months later, after everything that they’d been through together, they ended up together, so they got their happy ending. Klaus eventually informed her that he wasn’t the only one to die that night, and he helped her through the grief of her losing Elijah. They also found a way out of town, so they left to go back to the world that they’d always known.
