Summary: Set in Originals S5 and OUAT future S7. After he ends up in town and he tells her about The Hollow, can Regina find a way to get rid of it before The Hollow inside of Klaus makes him go back to his old ways of slaughtering others to get his way?

It was a dismal night, as Klaus Mikaelson appeared in a town somehow, the sign telling him that he was in a town called Storybrooke. He'd been in New Orleans, trying to find a way to take down The Hollow after he'd saved his daughter from it almost killing her. Hope was right. There had to be another way. There had to be a way to take it down without it destroying anyone in the process. He'd accidentally appeared in this town, but he could sense magic, so he decided to investigate the town. Besides, he was always up for a drink anyways. What better way to find out everything for himself than to stop by for a drink.

About an hour later, after he'd had his fill of a drink of Bourbon and some food, and when he was still seated on a bar stool at a place called Granny's Diner, someone he could sense very powerful magic from sat down next to him.

"Care to tell me who you are? Or more importantly, what you're doing here?" she demanded of him.

"Niklaus Mikaelson, but you can call me Klaus. My mother gave me that name, and I want nothing to do with her. May she rest in peace, though. I don't know why I'm here. I was in New Orleans, which so happens to be my city. Then I appeared by the roadside. Considering I'm needing some magical help and my daughter and witch sister have yet to find a way to destroy this thing, I figured I'd check out this town. Turns out, it's got magic. Or at least people that have magic if I'm not wrong. I'm half werewolf and half vampire. A hybrid. I can sense magic when it's near. I can also sense witches. And you, luv, have got some very powerful magic glowing from you. How about you help me?"

"I'm Regina, the town mayor. This is my town. We just met. Why would I help you? I don't even know you or know if I can trust you. You're new in town. People new in town tend to end up being the wrong kinds of people that have to be taken care of," she replied.

"I'll give you time to learn that you can trust me, luv, but I don't know how much time I've got before I become a time ticking bomb. I've got something inside of me called The Hollow. It's kind of like a spirit of some sorts, and it feeds on powerful magic. I took it inside of myself to keep it from hurting or killing my daughter, since she has such powerful magic, combined with being a hybrid. I was a monster before I found my humanity again. When Hope was born, I changed for her. I'd gladly die for her if I have to, but where I'm from, I know that there's always a loophole. I need to find that loophole. I have a tendency to go on a slaughter spree in my moments of anger and rage, and if anyone I care about is put in danger, so it would be the best interest for everyone here if you get to work on finding a way to get rid of it without anyone having to die. Preferably, before it takes control again or decides to make me see things that aren't there again," he replied and warned her. He then got up from the stool. "If you need me or you find anything, I'll be around."

"I'll help you then," Regina said, deciding too. She knew what it was like to do anything for your only child. She also knew what it was like to be a monster, but then have a child that changed you into a better person. She'd die for her son, just as he'd said that he'd die for his daughter if he had to. And the hybrid was right. There were usually loopholes. They just had to find it before it was too late to save him from The Hollow. If The Hollow was all-powerful as he'd said, then he was indeed, a ticking time bomb.

Klaus gave a smile at that, but before he could leave, she put a hand on his arm, which made him look at her.

"You can stay with me. I'm safer company than anyone else here. I too, was once a monster. You can take my son's old room. He's gone for a while on some adventures, so I don't know when or if he'll be back anyways, so it's currently just a guest bedroom," she told him. Then she let go of him.

"Very well then, luv. Lead the way," he replied with a smile.

She got up and led him on the route to where she lived. After Henry had left on his adventures to find out other fairytales out there that he'd read in books, she'd been living by herself. And, for once in a long while, this town had been peaceful and uneventful. Helping Klaus with all of this he was going through gave her something productive to do. Other than being the town mayor, that was. Plus, she did feel a little drawn to him.

After she got home with him and she'd shown him to his room, they sat on the couch in her living room, getting to know each other more. She told him about her past, the town, what she'd done, and what she'd lost. In turn, she got to learn a lot more about him. She'd dealt with werewolves before, but she'd never met a vampire or even a hybrid before. This was new territory, but she was willing to help him, believing that she could trust him with anything. They were from two total different worlds, but they were also alike in many ways. She almost wished that they'd met sooner, back when no one in town believed in her except for her son. If they had met sooner, she wouldn't have been as alone as she'd felt she'd been back then. At least now though, she had someone she could genuinely trust without the person turning their back on her. He understood all too well.

The next day, she got to work on trying to find a way to help him, going through everything she had in her vault that might help. She knew there had to be a way. She just had to find it. Like he'd said, there was always a loophole. Sometimes though, they just happened to be hard to find.

A few days later, after Klaus almost got over-powered by The Hollow, Regina finally found a way, so The Hollow was finally taken out of Klaus and destroyed once and for all. And after everything they'd been through together, they both fell in love with each other, so Klaus decided to stay. He knew, after all, that Hope would be alright. If she ever needed anything, she knew that he'd always be one phone call away. For now though, he was staying in this town. It was safe away from his enemies. Plus, there was a matter of whether or not he could leave town. So, they both got their happy ending.
