Ch.11: The New Dark One

        Kat entered Rumple's shop, having been called in by him, and saw him leaning against one of his glass counters.

        "What's wrong?" she questioned him. 

        "It's my heart," he informed her. 

        "What about it?" 

        "The last human fleck of red is disappearing. When that's gone, only the Dark One will remain. And that's more dangerous than you could ever imagine."

        When she heard that, she knew why he'd wanted her, instead of Belle right now. If he technically went, then she was the one that could deal with the Darkness. She had magic, after all. Belle didn't. Belle could get herself hurt dealing with the Darkness, once Rumple didn't exist anymore. 

        He slid to the floor, seated against the side of the glass counter. 

        "I'll figure out a way to save you then," she assured him. She knelt down, an arm around him. "Let's just get you to the back first. Come on." 

        He let her help him to the back, and to lay down on the bed. 

        "How are you going to manage that?" he wanted to know. 

        "I saved you from Hook's poison before. I think I can save you from the Darkness. Give me a chance," she replied.

        "If you can't do it, you have to get everyone here, far away. It's too dangerous," he warned her, allowing her to try her best to save his life.

        Kat went to the front of his shop, and then started looking for something she could contain all that darkness inside. 

        "What's going on?" Belle questioned, having just walked inside, seeing Katherine looking for something. 

        "The last human part of Rumple's heart is fading. I need something to contain it in. Perhaps a crystal? A powerful and strong one."

        "I don't understand. Why is this happening now?" Belle replied, but went over to help her. 

        "I don't know. My only priority right now is saving his life."

        It took about fifteen minutes, but they came up with something to contain the dark magic, but when Kat used it to suck the darkness out of his heart while Rumple was out, not all of the darkness could be contained. And so, the darkness escaped. When it swirled around Kat, she thought it was going to choose her, but it didn't. It went out of the shop through the mail slot. 

        "Stay with Rumple," Kat instruced Belle, once she'd put a preservation spell on him, making sure nothing would happen to him. Then she left the shop, looking for where it had gone. 

        "What's happening?" Regina inquired. 

        "The Darkness. Rumple's light was fading, so I tried sucking it out of him, but there's too much, so it couldn't be contained. I think it's looking for someone with the most potential for Darkness," Kat told her. 

        "Great," Regina stated sarcastically. Then it came out of nowhere, beginning to circle Regina for a few minutes. 

        "Regina!" Robin shouted, when it did so. 

        After a few minutes, the Darkness finally made up who it was going to use, and it went straight for Klaus. Most people would've tried to stop it from happening, but she knew she couldn't stop it from entering Klaus. The only thing she could do was try to help him control it after. She was good at knowing him so well. However, she knew she wouldn't always be able to control him. It was Klaus, after all.
