Van Helsing: Nothing Matters (Vaxel)

Set in 1x6. What if Vanessa escaped by herself?

        After having been bitten by the feral or whatever it had been, she started to not feel well. She didn’t let that stop her though, so after a while, she made her way out of the tunnels, finally on solid ground. She could feel that something was wrong though, feeling weak, which was when she felt the ground. She felt too weak to go anywhere, though.

        “Vanessa!” she vaguely heard from the distance. Then, as everything blurred, she blurrily saw him at her side. “Hey. Stay with me,” she heard him say. Then, after a few moments, she felt him pulling her into his arms. “Hold on for me, Sleeping Beauty. I’m gonna get you out of her. I’ve gotcha.” Then, as she felt him carrying her, everything went black.

        Vanessa didn’t know how long she’d been out for, but she was starting to feel better. She could tell that she was back in the lab, Axel not far from her.

        “Feeling any better?” he questioned her.

        She sat up.

        “I’m feeling a little better,” she truthfully told him. Despite not knowing him all that well yet, she knew one thing. She could always trust him with her life.

        “What happened?” he wanted to know.

        “I got bitten by some kind of sewer dwelling feral,” she informed him.

        “Well, it seems that you’re going to live, at least,” he replied, which relieved her. She was sure it was a relief to him too, considering his mission for the past five years had been to keep her alive.
