Legacies: A Blast From The Past

Summary: Set in 4x9. Lizzie is off on a mission to kill Hope, but what happens when Kat comes to life as a human with active Traveler magic, and is ready to help her save Hope, instead of killing her? Can they succeed in bringing back Hope's humanity?

        It was a beautiful day, as Lizzie sat in front of what she believe to be no humanity Hope Mikaelson. She was there to kill her, but she kept telling her that she wasn't really Hope. Right now, that was impossible in her mind. Right now, she just wanted to do the one thing nobody else would do. 

        Suddenly, as she continued to tell her that she wasn't who she thought she was, a stranger came up and sat between them. 

        "It's been a long time, Lizzie. Last time I saw you two, you were little girls. I assume your sister is at the school. You know, for being a Saltzman, you're starting to act like a Mikaelson, what with what you've done to these people."

        "And who the hell are you?" she asked the stranger. 

        "Katherine Pierce, but I'm not a vampire or demoness anymore. I'm a human descended from Travelers, which means I can help you. However, you need to listen to her. When someone says they're not who they should be, then someone did a body jump. All Mikaelsons are dead as I've learned, except for Hope and her aunts and her uncle, which leaves someone from the Mikaelson past. Anyone with knowledge of the Mikaelsons or that was close with one would know a semi enemy of them nearby," she explained to her. "I'm going to help you with Hope, but not to kill her. If Elijah and Klaus were still alive, they wouldn't want that for Hope. They'd want someone to do everything they can for her." 

        "You have a way of bringing her humanity back?" she inquired, impressed that someone actually knew something. 

        "I do. More than one way, actually. But first, we need to know who the body snatcher is." Kat looked at the tribrid or whoever was inside of the body of one. "You speak like you're from an age similar to mine," she stated. Then, thinking of the few people she'd met or head of or both from their past, she assumed who it was. "Aurora De Martel, am I right?" 

        "It's been a long time, Katherine," Aurora greeted her. 

        "Don't pretend we're friends. We just had a mutual interest at the time. You need to take us to where you left Hope at. You've got to be at least a little annoyed with her. I mean, she is a Mikaelson child, after all."

        "I have my own revenge planned out. I don't want you getting in my way. And you're human now. I can do whatever I want with you if you get in my way. Klaus ruined my life and locked me up in a castle. Hope will pay for what Klaus did to me." 

        "Don't get me wrong about revenge against a Mikaelson, but Klaus is gone. He's not coming back unless we figure out a way to do so if it's needed. There's no sense in Hope paying for Klaus' horrible deeds to you. Besides, if we're talking about present times here, you started it all. The moment you threatened his family, you started his punishment for you. Move on already," Kat replied. "Now, as for your little threat. I'm more than just a human." She showed her by levitating a spoon in front of her easily. Then she stopped. "I'm descended from Travelers, but I made my magic active. I had to to survive where I went when I died the last time. Now, I won't ask you nicely again. Take us to Hope. Before I start getting creative." 

        Aurora gave a growl, knowing she was defeated. 

        "Fine." 

        Soon enough, they all entered where Hope was. The basement of the castle that Klaus had  locked Aurora away in. 

        "I expected her return and you to show up, but who are you?" Hope questioned without emotion inside Aurora's body.

        "It doesn't matter who I am right now. Just that I can help you," Kat replied to her. Then, before anyone had time to do or say anything else, she magically snapped Aurora and Hope's necks. Then she looked at the blonde that resembled more of Caroline than her real mother. "I don't know how long it'll take for them both to wake up. I don't care about Aurora. She'll just leave and we'll never hear from her again. Let's get some chains and tie her up. Then I'll reverse Aurora's body snatching and we can begin."

        Lizzie did as she was told, but didn't really know what she was planning to do. 

        When Hope's body had been chained and the no-magic cuffs were on her, Kat did the reverse. Then she brought out a crystal. 

        "What's that?" Lizzie questioned. 

        "A special crystal. Back in the day, Freya said there may come a time when this would be needed. When there's no other way to help someone or bring a vampire's humanity back on, then this is a safe way to dive into their head. I'm going in alone, but I need you to be out here in case anything happens while I'm inside her head. I know  centuries of Mikaelson stuff, so even though I don't know Hope personally, I can help her. And since I lied so much as a vampire, I'd know for certain if she was faking turning it back on," she told her. "Wish me luck." 

        It felt like decades, but Kat finally got to the end of the line in her memory dive, which got her humanity back.  And so, Kat was able to wake up in her own body. Then, looking, she saw that Hope also was awake and her humanity was back on. And so, she did her good deed for the day. She prevented any senseless killings. And after all was said and done, Kat went to the school with them.
