Son

Son

A Poem by David Dodsworth
"

dedication to my son

"

Son I’m really proud of you and what you have achieved

Things I never thought you’d do, you did and did with ease

When you was a baby I’d watch you sleep at night

I tried to teach you good from bad I taught you left from right

I tried to stop you making, mistakes that I have made

And now you’re trying hard at school to get a better grade

You show respect and get it back from everyone you meet

You’re always playing fair and never try to cheat

Your manners are outstanding in a world where this is rare

Keep on trying and don’t give in and one day you’ll be there

To me you are my everything and that’s how things will stay

Until the day I leave this world and finally pass away

Remember this when I am gone you gave me hope and pride

Then think of all the fun we had and not the times we cried

I thank you for the memories I thank you for the fun

But most of all I thank you for being the worlds best son
