Let me In

Let me In

A Poem by David-Tyler

Pale skin, night sky in your hair, you looked like death
And I could feel it, ensnared by your eyes, you took my breath
But I'm a dope, and I blew my chances again
And I'd turn back time, change my name, give away a million dollars if you'd let me in
Good girl, safe choice, but I wanted more of you
It wouldn't be fair if I let her feel the way I do
For you, let her heart beat like mine
As I imagine how it must feel to walk your line
Of the border between lover and friend
Knowing we have all of our tomorrows and yesterdays to spend
Together, oh brother
You make my heart flutter like a butterfly, I don't mean to smother
But I'm knocking on your door
Hoping I could see you just a little more
Addicted after one drag off of you on a lazy Tuesday afternoon
I hope it all gets better here shortly, or sometime soon
I can't think, I can't breathe, all I can do is smile
With you on my mind in the pouring rain for the last half mile
You could do it all again if you wanted, making my heart stop
But I'm pretty sure you think I'm a dope, and I'm a flop
Pale skin, night sky in your hair, you looked like death
And I could feel it, ensnared by your eyes, you took my breath
But I'm a dope, and I blew my chances again
And I'd turn back time, change my name, give away a million dollars if you'd let me in

"You make my heart flutter like a butterfly"

My candy bar soul has melted. And then a dog pissed on it.
