Conjoined

Conjoined

A Poem by DavidJ

words that filter through the night
slip in softly like a mist
glowing with supernal light
make my soul feel like it’s kissed
my spirit recognized you
it spotted you before I did
our communion is not new
our secrets refusing to stay hid
we fold together you and I
like an ethereal origami
and even if you did not try
your essence paid the price and bought me
you penetrate me with a breath
our bodies are each other’s homes
and some day when I rest in death
they’ll find your name etched on my bones
