An Adventurers' Life

An Adventurers' Life

A Poem by David the writer

In a land far away
Lie they
The fiends, the damsel, the gold
Get ready. we're off to a militia hold

Get prepared, we're off to a castle
Board the vessel
Brace yourself, the elves are waiting
There's no time for debating

We're adventurers always on a quest
But that's what I like best
Always seeing what's new
I don't even care who's paying who

Don't have a home, don't have a worry
We're happy, and free
We live for the next damsel to rescue
Just looking for the next adventure to pursue

I told the king we'd slay the dragon
There'll be action
We'll find that hidden treasure
That I'm sure

Portals connecting separate dimensions
Mad genus with more inventions
It gives us something to look forward to
As the days grow old, and our lives are handed to us our youth slips through

We're adventurers always on a quest
But that's what I like best
Always seeing what's new
I don't even care who's paying who

Don't have a home, don't have a worry
We're happy, and free
We live for the next damsel to rescue
Just looking for the next adventure to pursue

We go from city taverns, to sleeping bags in nowhere
But like I said, we don't have a care
We venture from caves, to kingdoms
But all roads lead to Rome, no matter their money sums

We travel from sandy coasts, to lands so cold
We're adventurers so bold
We go from walking, to sailing
We're adventurers, our ancestors we're trailing
