Reassembly

Reassembly

A Poem by BlueSpottedTail

What they all had in common was that they stood there and looked at me
like I mattered

and that crushed me,
right down to a powder,
and I blew away at the slightest hint of breeze
and lost myself

each time,

set on whatever course that wind decided to take me
until there were little pieces of me
scattered about everywhere.

I'm still trying to gather myself.

Great interpretation of being a victim; subjected to the judgemental attitude of a peer group whos ignorance of your importance is ignored by their prejudices! And... the ability to rise above the situation and as you wrote "I'm still trying to gather myself." The trying is the most important message here... bless... :-)

Just feel compelled to leave u a short note on what is one of the strongest opening lines I had the pleasure of reading in a while. The entire poem is great, but that opening is an absolute gem.
