A woman's kiss

A woman's kiss

A Poem by Deacon Kane
"

A poem about love, life, hope and beauty inspired by a contest I entered years ago. At its heart it speaks to the idealism of love.

"

A woman’s kiss

In my mirror

there’s a place there where evil never came,

where Adam kept that place for Eve

and Othello pledged his heart like this.

Where we laid our compliments like flowers

at their feet.

There’s a place there in my mirror

I told the world to feed their hopes,

where evil never came

and paradise is a woman’s kiss,

and Forever is a word I etched inside a lonely heart

knowing that from her I’d never choose to part,

the confines of her soul like Avalon

a dream that feels so much like home.
