Ashes

Ashes

A Poem by Zymotic

Through these dead eyes I will try to see
This sea of tears rising up in me
I'll cut myself but I will not bleed
And fall into ashes

No use, Such a waste of time
Going nowhere, No hope in flight
I'll tear off my wings and give them to you
And watch you fly away

Such a failure, So many ways to fall
Wasting time until it is erased
Once it was lost, But never forgotten
Breathing on this world so rotten
Still of no use

I watch the sunrise in my eyes
So beautiful but so dead to me
This cure will not heal me

And so I will remain here to catch your tears
As my soul rots, at least you're fine
And I'll rise from ashes

Wow such a tormented poem you have written. I like the visiual you give by saying

"I'll tear off my wings and give them to you
And watch you fly away"

Such a sacrifice given in this poem. and i really like the hopeful line that you end with
"As my soul rots, at least you're fine
And I'll rise from ashes"

rise from the ashes sounds like maybe after all things will end up ok... Like a new start... Good job with this one.
