She in Red Robe

She in Red Robe

A Poem by Anthony M. Barajas

She in red robe danced A night

The neon glow of hotel lights

Abandoned cars

And loud stereo

Fog in The heaviness

That weighs down

She with dark eyes Soft lips

And long calypso hair

Strut in the morning of her delusion

Paths to her knowledge

Seemed delayed in her reasoning

Afraid of the conclusion

End of the story

Read in first line symphony

Historical operatic miles

In her orchestrated life

She in dark night

Comes in like a sonic boom

The Rivers of her veins flow in the

Rivalry of her illusions

Forbidden religion

            The fractions of day

Weave inwardly in the brace

Of her presence

Come now this alter

My sacrifice

For the decay of my lust
