Society

A Poem by Death

Lost in a sea of information.
Surrounded by a constant  feed of nonsense.
Patience lowering,
Anxiety rising.
I'm losing my f*****g mind.
Screams and shouts from my inner demons
Creating more confusion.

Attacked with information
Coming from every direction.
Nonsense shoved down our throats.
Society creating zombies
Who can't find decent help.

There is no way to live this life
Without regretting something
You've done.
You've come so far
But it's so hard to keep going on
When everything in life seems to be against you.

I truly enjoy the zombie imagery.

I think the poem would be more powerful if you kept it in first person instead of shifting from first person to second person. And I love "society creating zombies" but "who can't find decent help" doesn't play well with the zombies. I read it and asked myself, "Are zombies looking for help?" Perhaps changing it to "Who aren't looking for help." or "Who aren't aware they need help."? Maybe? Understand this is just my opinion.

I did enjoy the piece overall. Thank you for sharing.
