Soon Moonlight Shall Soften

Soon Moonlight Shall Soften

A Poem by Debra Stevens Edwards (debby)

Soon moonlight shall soften the night sky

As we sit together watching just you and I

The waves gently moving across the sand

Talking in smiles while you hold my hand

We talk of our hopes for a future so bright

Still we talk on for hours long into the night

We shared our triumphs and pains as I cry

While moonlight glows softly in the night sky

Young lovers making plans and sharing dreams

Sharing their hearts and souls so it would seem

Though fate may hold a different plan in mind

Life may not hold what the young seek to find

Funny how life goes in twist and Spins out of sight

Changing many things that you once thought so right

We don’t know how and know one knows just why

So enjoy your moments with in the moonlight sky
