mother dearest

mother dearest

A Poem by DecentlyOkayWriter
"

mother's day is coming up. .

"
mother dearest
raising me from the soil
taking care to help me grow
never cutting my blooms
even if they're wrinkled on the edges
watching me through thunder and bees
how sweet as she fixes my leaves
even if I don't notice how she, herself, wilts
even if the most I can do is write her some words
and hope that they're enough to make up
for everything she's given me

maybe not for the mother I have now, but for who I wish she was.
