A warning I should have given an old friend

I will love you like no other.
Like a comet blazing in the night sky I will awe and enchant.
Yet, in all honesty,
I am more like a hurricane,
And there is no greater satisfaction than seeing the destruction I've left in my wake.
But, in the end,
The pain is what makes you feel alive.
So let me love you like no other,
I promise, it will only hurt for a moment.
