Awakening

Awakening

A Poem by Deepayan

I have opened my eyes in the middle of the night.

My dusky visions have made me a cripple in the hand of light.

I found my way beside the shaded lamps.

I followed the footprints of my dizzy memories.

I found my way to the window side.

I can now see the beckoning stars.

The sky has cascaded into the blue eternity.

The husky smile of the drowning moon, shall write a ballad in the clouds.

I shall observe with helpless hands, the ending sand of time.

Now I know the unspoken verses of the stars.

Now I know the silent whispers of the winds that our lives have lost its youth like this aged earth.

If all the leaves withers  from the tree of life,

I will stay awake forever.
