The light at the end of the tunnel

The light at the end of the tunnel

A Poem by Deidara

We see what we want to see
believe what we want to believe
pretend that everything is alright
and that the morning will come after night

What foolish creatures are we
forgetful of suffering, living carefree
choosing to believe in silly lies
we ignore the children's cries

We'd rather turn on one another
than offer assistance to our brother
spend trillions on war
what about those who can't fight anymore?

We turn a blind eye to evil
where did we go wrong?
evil born in times primeval
where did we go wrong?

Society is a train
the tracks are progress
the tunnel is evil
there is light at the end
but the tunnel never ends

This is actually really true. We, as humans, have lost touch in our basic humanity. The concept of true and unlimited love has been lost. It's been lost beneath buried centuries of bigotry, greed, hatred and selfish lies. We are broken and we are jaded. We need to fix ourselves. We are ignorant. I believe that this poem describes society very well. :) Great job, Deidara.
