The Midnight Train

The Midnight Train

A Poem by Deidara

I traded in my bike last year
for a ticket on this train.
All aboard, no time to fear
The lonely nights of pain.

There are no brakes aboard this train
nor any other passengers.
Doomed until the day I die
to speed through life, passing all else by

The conductor turns and reveals his face
and extends a fleshless hand towards me.
"Your life is mine, you've lost control"
He whispers with the utmost glee.

Passing through the countryside
at a breakneck breaking speed.
Take my life I say to him
a swift and painless death I plead

There are no stops on this train
just sleepless nights and endless days.
On and on we keep on going
never stopping, never slowing.

Looking out the windows,
I see my life passing by.
All the times I've had regret
and all the times I've cried.

The happy memories are gone
and all that's left are tears.
Desperately I cry out loud
"Please turn this train around!"

Apprehension clouds my mind
and frantically I try and find;
A way to slow this speeding train
and retake control of my life again.

To no avail and all in vain
I find a big red button.
That should I push would end my pain.
Blowing up this midnight train.
