Taking Time To Sip A brew

Life came to a brief halt
taking time to sip a brew
Closing out the rest of the world
to spend a little time with you.

Seems like ages had passed
when it had only been a few weeks
but the preciousness you bring
adds more color to my cheeks.

For some reason a tune gets played
as well a spiritual bond gets tied.
Such a wonderfully full feeling
having you right near my side.

Leaning over to make words clear
we both suffer from aging hearing loss.
Now I know the plight I am living
is partially because age is now the boss.

I normally don't like Starbucks
or any brew from a paper cup
but when your presence hovers
my ego seems to blow up.

Thank you for the sharing
allowing life to take a break
To step outside the norm
bringing some relief to the ache.
