Me and Ana

Me and Ana

A Poem by Absentee Reality Check
"

a girl's struggle with anorexia.

"

Candy and razor blades,
 Bubble gum and guns,
Stabbing me in the back
While giving me a hug.
The mirror is always lying
 Always has, always will.
The chances of my dying
 Have risen far past nil.
I try to hold my head up high,
But I get lost inside,
And everything is not alright
With me a and my best friend, Ana.

This is very sad, anorexia is very hard to quit. I hope you personally haven't had to go through this, because it is so well written that it seems like you would have to exsperience it to write it this well. Great job!

hey look, i'm back! anyway, this one is spine-chillingly good. the only things i would say are i wish it were longer (not that it doesn't work this way, i just like it :] ), and the lack of rhyme at the end threw me off a little. besides that, it's a REALLY cool concept with the extended metaphor, and was definitely very well carried out! you have to enter this piece in contests if you haven't already done so. (tiny nit-picky note: there's an extra 'a' in the last line)
