Starlight left me

Starlight left me

A Poem by Absentee Reality Check
"

i wrote this after a friend of mine died in a really stupid set of circumstances.

"

hope falls silently to the ground.

like your name,

like you.

what were you thinking?

what twisted cul-de-sac of thought led you to this?

can't breathe. you're pulling me under.

drowning in the bleak-black waters of distress.

I break free to fly into the clouds of oblivion,

but there you are to bind my wings

and send me plummeting to the ground.

I told you I loved you once.

I loved you more than life itself

and now you are more than life , if death is indeed something more.

who am I kidding? I still love you.

otherwise why would I dread waking into this nightmare world without you?

my happiness flickers like a guttering flame

and your sweet laughter blows it out. are you happy where you are?

are you at rest?

is it better there?

can you finally be who you always were inside?

goddamnit, why can't your smoke-solid ghost  leave me alone?

or will the memories always sting like a salted wound?

star-light, always bright, you left my heart in pieces tonight.

This is very sad but the love you feel for this person comes across strongly. Your questions and feelings in this poem are similar to the ones I asked and felt when I lost a loved one so unexpectedly to violence. Really nice job.

ohh how sweet ..no death would never be a barrier
he will always be there..hope should never fall
yes what could he be thinking now and he will bind you,for a time
you told him ,you loved once, the world was a nightmare without him
is it still..his ghost will follow for a while, memories will keep wounds open
he shattered your heart in his life and at his death..for you loved
i really loved this one some lovely thoughts..and feelings so great and touching
lovely write..
