Crappy

Crappy

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

Today I noted

a mark-ed malevolence

manifesting from

my mostly mired mirrors,

Stained in fingerprints

produced by personal

prods at my pitiful appearance.

I tried to overcome

these critiques

that called to light

my laughable laziness

and loss of likability.

Perhaps, i’m plagued

but pestilence perpetrated

by pesky parasites,

but probably just petulant

complaints created to absolve myself of how crappy I’ve become.

This is a very strong write as I can see your emotions clearly written in every line. My favorite so far.

Very good use of word and thoughts. I like the way you allowed the reader into your thoughts. Sometime crappy is a good place. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
