Lovely Labyrinths

Lovely Labyrinths

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

We've lived such lives
As labyrinths
Lit by elusive dreams.
We've longed to find
Liberation
With lovely, lusty schemes.

My heart beats strange
When you're away.
It feels like breaking down.
My voice is strained
More everyday
As I scream your name so loud.

Don't go!
Don't go.
I could never part from you.
Don't go.
Never go.
Love as this shan't ring untrue.

We'll have; we'll hold
Till we grow old-
Our heart beats full of life.
We cried; we kissed
Unto eternal bliss-
Tired eyes still shining bright.

Very lovely.

Pft, the hell? This was amazing. Not lovely.

It had my heart twirl around, and butterflies attacked my stomach.

Your last stanza hit my heart right in the center. Amazing, amazing. x

This piece is an emotional one that has made love more than a feeling or emotion but a relationship and a lifetime....I have always enjoyed your poems.... Keep it up.
