Daylight Returns

Daylight Returns

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

The skylines hid behind curtains of fog.
The sun's stayed dark for far too long,
But frozen lakes boil with coming dawn,
And the pall falls back like shades undrawn.

Light floods planes of lost landscapes
Revealing fields of green and flowered lace.
Colour creeps into oppressive greys.
Rebourn rivers shout as their cold shells break.

Tomorrow, may the birdcalls take flight,
As the odour of blooms blossom to life,
And the skies finally glow to blue and white
Unto brilliant warm brushstrokes before the coming night.

Amazing poetry my friend.
"Tomorrow, may the birdcalls take flight,
As the odour of blooms blossom to life,
And the skies finally glow to blue and white
Unto brilliant warm brushstrokes before the coming night."
Always good to read your words. I like the flow of thoughts leading to the very good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
