Just reading your words made my heart race, Jim. My first thought when I hear a siren is to pray that nobody is hurt or has died, I pray if they are hurt that they will be ok. Living in town, we don't have many sirens, but when I lived in Dublin, the sirens were non-stop in the silence of night. It was either the police, the ambulance or the fire brigade. You have captured one's inevitable reaction to a siren superbly and very poetically in this succinct write, Jim. Thank you for sharing... Lovely work!

just returned from NYC after 7 weeks.....away from the hurricane mess...a siren about every 5 minutes, as a major hospital was nearby our apartment...when one hears that siren, one's heart jumps in...in a scary way....the other heartbeat is a feeling of love, passion, excitement, a happy one..I loved the way you contrasted and compared in this little poem which is very meaningful...
Nice work!
Warmly, B

I believe I have met Sirens in my life. I am lucky. Raised hair on my back told me. Be careful. Nice twist of words my friend. Good morning from Michigan and thank you for sharing the entertaining poetry.
