Miscommunications

Miscommunications

A Poem by Moonflower

Days pass in a dreary haze while I'm hanging off the

edge of this psychological phase

I can't even comprehend everything that you say

While I stare, wide eyed, in a confused daze

So I found redemption in the lonliness of yesterday

As I waved good bye and was consumed by this craze

And you're still standing there, wasted, wearing that ugly grin

While I'm stuck here in a place where time doesnt exist

Drinking away the hours and staring at my empty wrist

Staring eyes invade that lonely tossing sleep

Spinning under sun rays, dust falls as I weep

Don't touch me in this place of never ending sorrow

Today its hard to breathe, I fear the darkness of tomorrow

Don't stare at me with those hatred filled eyes

Piercing my soul, penetrating my disguise

Oblivion is just beyond my grasp as I choke down

more than I can take

Drowning my sorrows and all my selfish mistakes

I still see your eyes in the back of my mind but

They're faded and lined with memories

of me and you.

Ah, isn't it just like that... I often wondered why Oblivion refused to accept me... Then I destroyed somebody else... While I'm ashamed to admit, it's great to see we're all going through the same struggles, day in and day out... kind of makes you wonder why we aren't holding hands all across the nation, singing songs and smoking peace pipes...

I digress... Well written, and truth to the core, Ms.

This poetic 'thorn', as Selene would put it, is almost lovely in the way it outpours a stream of bittersweet emotion in the words written. Honest and raw, it pulses with feeling...

I have yet to break a heart however have succumb to several heartaches. However, the relationship between man and wife holds a different kind of pain than most because there's a deeper plane of commitment and love shared. And when the bond is frayed for whatever reason the sorrow is sometimes too unbearable. Writing is one way to reach inward to self-purge, self-heal and relinquish.
